Delta Xi Sigma Chapter was chartered on March 21, 1975, through the vision of five women: Edmonia Borden, Mabel Duffie Bizzell, Edna Alfred Smith, Dolores Humphrey Malone, and Winifred Collin Manning.
Their legacy lives in a chapter that brings intelligence, dignity, friendship, and determined service to every room we enter.
Evanston made national history by establishing the nation’s first municipally funded reparations program for Black residents. Created in 2019, the fund supports local reparations addressing harms including discriminatory housing policies and practices—placing our chapter’s service within a city committed to repair, racial equity, and Black community wealth.
